About Global's DC Models

The 12 and 24 Volt CEG Series Rotary Vibrators operate on direct current (DC). Global has 12 and 24 Volt Vibrators, either continuous duty or intermittent use. DC vibrators are especially useful where air, hydraulic, or AC power sources are not available. A major advantage of DC Electric Industrial Vibrators is they are extremely quiet; the only noise is the hum of the electric motor. The CEG Series DC Vibrators are an excellent choice for Dump Trucks, Feed Hoppers, Seed Tenders, Hopper Trucks, Fertilizer Spreaders, Concrete Pump Trucks, Salt Spreader Hoppers and many more.

The largest CEG DC Vibrator is capable of handling a load up to 41,820 pounds (19,000 kg). Use multiple vibrators on a single hopper when the load is greater than 41,820 pounds (19,00 kg). For example, to restore flow to a hopper or truck bed with 86,000 pounds (39,000 kg), use two CEG DC Vibrators. If unloading a truck bed you may be able to size down according to what is left in the bed after it is dumped. But, if the vibrator is turned on with a full load, you must size vibrator for the full load. For more information please see:

  • Sirometer - Convenient, compact rpm meter for measuring vibrator speed.
  • C3/GBM wedge bracket for portability. A vibrator mounted to a C3/GBM bracket fits in a railcar hopper pocket.
  • May be mounted on a C3/GBM wedge bracket or GBM-X bracket for portability. A vibrator mounted to a C3/GBM bracket or GBM-X bracket fits in a railcar hopper pocket and will assist in unloading the railcar.
    • GBM-X Bracket - Fits universal railcar pocket brackets. Unitized construction - one piece ductile iron casting. Heavy duty - handles rough treatment. Designed with a unique hammer strike plate. Has a handle for was of use. After unloading a railcar, the vibrator may become wedged in the railcar pocket. The best way to dislodge the vibrator is to use our unique Hammer Strike Plate. Operators often use a large hammer and hit the vibrator, causing damage.  The GBM-X Bracket features a heavy-duty strike plate, which extends below the railcar bracket. The hammer blow is directed to the strike plate and not to the vibrator.

Selection of 12V and 24V Electric DC Vibrators for Hoppers and Trucks

Note on Truck Beds:

The truck bed becomes a 'sloped hopper' when dumping load.

The operator should consider the weight of the material that remains in the bed when the vibrator is operated. If the material is compacted or does not dump easily, the operator should size the vibrator based upon the weight of the full load. If the material flows relatively freely, but a portion remains, the vibrator should be sized based upon the estimated weight of the remnant material.
